...I may have to start over and that kills my soul since I was a perfectionist about the normal mapping.

Confusion Abounds
Next step for our cannon was doing a normal and AO pass on the low res. Although I seemed to run into a problem of using the higher res model and not the z brush model which...left out a lot of detail and created a lot of mess.

Sorry But Your Hero is in Another Castle
A redesign of Princess Peach as a warrior princess. She has a umbrella-lance themed off Monster Hunter-esq weaponry but I didn't include it in the model sheet. Here I just tried to match style best I could. Jose was in charge of our more 'fantasy rpg' environment and Summan was in charge of our color and value.

ZBrush
This actually isn't the first time I've touched Zbrush, although the first time really can't count for much. Someone let me play around with it maybe...back in 2009 and I think all I managed was making a very deformed sphere before the camera lost me somewhere in oblivion. Compared to that, I'd say this modeling venture turned out to be much more successful.

Whoops
Jumped ahead of the game there and forgot to actually make the polygon smooth mesh. Here's the actual high res model.
Details Galore
High res model time! Along with another turntable because I take pleasure in making them.
And without wireframe
Hopefully the high res is alright. The tutorial didn't cover how to make the rings or adding polys in other places so I did the best I could from eyeing the wireframe of the model in the video.
Let me Drive my Van into Your Heart
That title isn't even remotely related to Uv mapping. Forgive me for not being more clever and simply relying on Steven Universe music titles.
I think it's been a whole year since I last had to dive in and make a UV map. Having a tutorial certainly helps (as well as it not being a round clay pot object that no one will ever see).

I feel like this could be better organized, but the layout function was squishing everything without much consideration for bleed and I wasn't having much luck exactly mimicking tutorial layout.
Have to say, thank you Maya 2015 for having a checkerboard pattern within the UV Texture Editor. That is a new feature that I am very glad to have. I hope they kept it in 2016. I haven't exactly poked around that one yet.

Photoshop Disaster
I did every single technique from a video tutorial in one image. It is a beautiful disaster, but hey I learned some handy new things about Photoshop. Although I really wish their brushes could be more...painterly. PaintTool Sai, you've spoiled me.
I also did things traditionally. These pencils are amazing! I love blending them!
