Spin Spin Spin

A model spin I did for fun so we could get a better view of it from all around.
Seems youtube will be the animation host of choice. I'm sure my old watchers there will be happy for the new activity.

Ahoy Small Fry

Cannon models manned by pirate fish men ahead!
Here is a maya model based off some concept work.

These are the wire frames.

And here's the cannon in all its glory up on Unreal Engine third person shooter mode.
It's certainly not the first time I've modeled in maya, but by doing this exercise I learned a few new shortcuts through shift+right clicking. I was always hesitant to use these in the past, but after this project I'm starting to warm up to it and will probably rely on it more to speed up my process. I also had an interesting battle with normals. Maya 2015 sure seems more picky about them. It seemed like every history deletion somehow turned them inside out! Remember to watch your normals!

First Week of my FIEA Journey

Was a very busy week indeed, both inside and outside the program. New home, new car, new friends...and of course new fun learning experiences!

Let's start things off with a rather rushed animation. After a summer off I seem to be a little rusty and had to cut out a lot of choppy animation frames that just didn't meet quality. Now don't get me wrong, there's a lot more polish this clip could use too. But seeing how the base requirement was simply to move something I think I got that covered.

Hopefully blogger has a decent video player. If not, expect it to migrate to youtube.
Youtube it is!
